Unsworth Social Club, Whitefield
Status Planning: Approved
Context
Unsworth Social Club was a landmark site that had great importance and significance to the local area. This area, however, needed regeneration. The site of the former social club was not only vacant but also became a problematic anti-social area. The vision was to solve several community challenges by regenerating Unsworth Social Club into an affordable housing scheme, whilst respecting the significance of this landmark site.
Task
The proposal aimed to use the old club site and vacant land nearby to create ten shared-ownership, affordable homes. We needed to ensure we uncovered the true potential of this site, consider all stakeholders and collaborate with the right partners to create quality, sustainable homes.
