Context
The site is bounded by a series of semi-detached dwellings to the North West and Mauldeth Train Station directly to the East. The train station serves the Ladybarn area of Manchester and permits travel directly into central Manchester.
Task
The proposed mix of 14 apartments for social rent, facing Ladybarn Park The development maximised the potential of the site, with small to medium apartments proposed in an economic layout that responds well to the existing built context. The scheme provided 14no. apartment dwellings, eight of which are suitable for a two-bedroom three-person occupation and the remaining six for one bedroom two-person occupation. The location is ideal for those commuting into Manchester for work, with immediate access to Mauldeth station to the east.
